The AI Scribe
With consent attested by the clinician on screen, microphone audio streams from the browser straight to Azure AI Speech in Canada Central and is converted to text — Qlynic's servers never touch it and no audio is kept — and what comes back is one SOAP draft the provider reviews and signs, plus (for Alberta) billing codes resolved against Alberta's own tables; $99 per provider per month with 600 minutes included, and only voiced audio is streamed and billed.

Where the sound goes
The microphone opens in the browser, the audio is downsampled and pushed straight into Azure AI Speech's stream in the canadacentral region, recognised as Canadian English. Qlynic's servers are not on that path — they never see a frame of it — so there is nothing of it for us to keep. The speech service is configured not to retain audio. The transcript lives in the browser tab until you turn it into a note; Qlynic keeps its length and the consent attestation, not the text.
Consent first
The record button is disabled until a clinician attests consent on screen, and the visit records who attested and the second they did, with audit lines beside it. It is a clinician attestation, not a patient signature. The Privacy Policy says a patient may decline the scribe at any visit and may ask the clinic to set a standing do-not-record preference on their record; while set, sessions cannot start for that patient.
Smart listening
Only voiced audio is streamed — and billed. Silence under the threshold is never sent, a short hangover keeps a pause mid-sentence from cutting the stream, and a rolling pre-roll means the first syllable is already on its way. Minutes are rounded up per session, once, at the end. You can switch smart listening off and stream everything.
The draft
One unified SOAP note comes back to the browser and lands in the box you would have typed into. Its rules are strict: use only facts stated in the transcript or context, never invent vitals, exam findings, diagnoses, dosages or history, append [verify] to anything unclear, keep what you already wrote. Nothing reaches the chart until a provider saves it — saving requires a linked provider profile, whatever the role. Anyone can start a recording; only a provider can save the result.
The second pass (Alberta)
It reads the note back and proposes diagnostic and service codes. Every code is a lookup key against Alberta's own active tables — the description and the fee always come from the table, never from the model, and anything that does not resolve is dropped before you see it. A user without billing permissions never receives code suggestions. The percentage on a suggestion is the model's own stated confidence, not a measured accuracy; anything under 50 is discarded.
Price
$99 per provider per month ($79.17 billed annually), 600 minutes per provider included, $0.10 per minute over, the same price in every country. Entirely optional.
