Doctor Blackouts

Configure provider unavailability and exceptions. Blackouts instantly affect patient-facing booking slots and are visualized in admin timelines to prevent conflicts.

Unified blocking

Blackouts block availability across admin and patient flows. Admin timeline shows red blackout blocks, and the public booking page never offers those times.

Flexible modes

Choose from Vacation/Week (full-day ranges), Full/Half day, or Specific slots. Reasons are optional and appear as tooltips in the admin timeline.

Conflict-safe

Admin selection is clamped to free time (shifts minus blackouts and existing appointments). Patient slots are generated only from truly free intervals.

Configure blackout

These settings directly affect patient booking slots in real time.

How blackouts affect scheduling

Admin timeline

Blackouts appear as red blocks with tooltips. Admin cannot select inside them; the selection bar auto-clamps to free time within working shifts.

Patient booking

The public booking page only shows slots generated from working shifts minus blackouts and existing appointments. Full-day blocks yield no slots.

Modes & ranges

Vacation/Week blocks full days over a range, Day/Half-day blocks parts of a day, and Specific slots block precise minute ranges.

Tip: Always pick a provider before configuring blackouts. Changes apply immediately to availability.
