Scheduling

Booking, shifts, services, series and time off.

  1. Live Doctor shifts and availability How do I set a doctor's hours and shifts? You write one weekly rule per doctor, per branch — split shifts included — bounded by the branch's own opening hours; every date is worked out from it, date exceptions subtract from it, blackouts cut from what is left, and before a change to the rule is saved you see the names of every booked patient it no longer fits and choose whether to notify them.
  2. Live Family and group bookings Can a family book one visit together? Yes — a family booked into one slot gets one encounter with a separate record per person, each keyed to their own patient ID; the doctor picks how a group's length is worked out (per person, fixed, or base plus extra), nothing comes out shorter than the doctor's own slot, and a group past the doctor's cap is refused rather than squeezed.
  3. Live Multi-doctor clinics Can several doctors with different hours and prices share one clinic? Yes — every doctor runs their own practice inside the clinic (hours, appointment lengths, gaps, services and prices) while the front desk works one calendar; four doctors can all have a 10:00 patient, a clash is only ever one doctor booked twice and Qlynic blocks that, the calendar filters by doctor, branch and status, and adding a doctor takes an afternoon and $89 a month.
  4. Live Online booking and the eight-minute hold How does online booking work, and how long is a slot held? A patient taps the clinic's own link, signs in through the portal with a verified phone, says why they're coming, picks from what is actually free (shifts minus exceptions, blackouts, bookings and other people's live holds), and the slot is held for eight minutes — extendable in five-minute steps to a hard ceiling — so two people can never be told yes for the same time; then a text and an email with the calendar file and the reschedule link go out on their own.
  5. Live Recurring series and rescheduling Can I book a weekly course of appointments, and can patients reschedule themselves? Yes — every date in a series is validated against the doctor's shift, that day's exception, blackouts and live holds with the same engine as a single booking; when a date can't fit, a patient booking online gets the dates that work and is told which were skipped, while the front desk gets all or none with the failing dates named; patients reschedule through a single-use secure link that runs the same five checks staff see.
  6. Live Services, durations and prices per doctor How are appointment types, durations and prices set up? A service belongs to a doctor, not the clinic: its name, duration (5–480 minutes), base price, payment mode (paid in full, deposit or insurance), discount or promotion, Alberta SOMB service code, branch scope and intake form are set once on the doctor, and the booking page, the calendar and the invoice change together.
  7. Live Time off, vacations and blackouts How do I block a doctor's time off, and what happens to patients already booked? Six shapes — full day, morning off, afternoon off, chosen hours, a vacation of up to 366 days, and up to 40 scattered dates — each with an optional reason; before it saves, Qlynic lists every appointment inside the window, tells you which patients can be emailed, and can send each the same one-tap link they got with their booking so they choose a new time; the block is honoured by online booking, the front desk, patient rescheduling, recurring series and the SMS assistant alike.
