Time off, vacations and blackouts

Six shapes — full day, morning off, afternoon off, chosen hours, a vacation of up to 366 days, and up to 40 scattered dates — each with an optional reason; before it saves, Qlynic lists every appointment inside the window, tells you which patients can be emailed, and can send each the same one-tap link they got with their booking so they choose a new time; the block is honoured by online booking, the front desk, patient rescheduling, recurring series and the SMS assistant alike.

Six shapes of away

Full day (midnight to midnight), morning off, afternoon off, chosen hours in fifteen-minute steps, a vacation with a start and an end (up to 366 days), and scattered dates that don't line up (up to 40). Every one takes an optional reason so the front desk can see why the time is closed, and none can be set in the past.

The twelve people already inside it

Any system can grey out a week; the work is the patients already booked into it. Before the blackout saves, Qlynic finds every one of them, shows which have an email on file, and offers Save without notifying or Save & notify — each notified patient gets the one-tap link from their booking to pick a new time themselves.

One wall, every door

A blackout is a condition inside the single engine every booking surface goes through, so there is no version of the schedule that hasn't heard about it: online booking never shows the slot, the front desk can park a draft but cannot confirm it, patient rescheduling says the doctor is not available, a recurring series steps over the blocked weeks, and the SMS assistant books through the same validator.

Edge cases

A blackout is written in the clinic's own time and converted separately for every date it covers, so the weekend the clocks change doesn't slide Monday by an hour. Two patients clicking the last slot in the same second are resolved under a per-doctor lock: one books, the other is asked to pick again.
